Wish we had signed Ferguson instead of Fusitua.
And the second rower from Leigh looks impressive.
Springer again looked good and would be a cheap option along with Esah who I mentioned before.
Hooley good going forward but not so good in defence I thought..

With Walker, we can support him with his latest rehab and plan to not play him next season, instead loaning him out. His cap would therefore be zero.

Agreed. People saying we don’t need another back are surely forgetting we are losing Sutcliffe and Briscoe. We don’t have the quality ready in the Academy yet imo not to bring in another back. We’d be badly exposed with an injury or two

But when you say like that, what exactly is that?

Is Walker going to get a game if myler and Hardaker were both fit and staying - no, if we signed Hooley as well you could say it was even less likely.
Does he have 1 year left on his deal - yes
Are we likely to extend his deal beyond that - no
The only thing we are doing is saying we wouldn’t loan you out to another club, nor should we in my opinion as it doesn’t help us in any way when he is OOC at the end of the year. It is just the reality of his situation we are pointing out to him. He may even welcome a release given where he is.

He’s currently injured with a quite a bad injury. We have s duty to get him fit first and foremost, not trying to ship him out.

We have a duty to look after him, provide him with quality support and rehab, absolutely and no argument from me on that. However, the duty to get fit doesn’t just rest on the club, it also rests on him and what he wants to do. Offering him an immediate release and being upfront and honest about his potential to play next year, is i would argue in his best interests. I am not suggesting a termination of his contact and he is chucked out on the side of the road. I am suggesting we are clear with the lad they he isn’t going to feature in our long term plans and we won’t be extending his contract. He can then freely decide what he wants to do and we can plan accordingly.

Would hardly be surprising if he's not exploring other career options. There may be other ways in which the club can support him while removing him from the cap if a return to full fitness is no longer realistic.
