Moving forward how about Hardaker at loose man to replace Asiata? He's playing as a ball playing second row in the middle and has a great pair of hands o why not let him control things in the middle, he'll be a lot better than Aydin who was invisible last night and maybe why Cust and Sezer looked so poor
I had that same thought during the game, it would probably be our best option, at least as a stop gap until Asiata returns. Aydin is nothing more than a trundler and simply doesn't have the skill set to play as a central pivot.
Asiata has been key to most of our decent wins this year, don't think it's a coincidence that Sezer and Cust were struggling for time and space last night, which then led to a certain degree of panic football, trying to score without building any foundations.
I know moving Hardaker would necessitate another shuffle around, but that team last night looked unbalanced and ineffective. Think Hardaker would relish the responsibility and link up well with Sezer. At this stage in his career he's experienced enough to be able to slot in almost wherever he is required to play without it adversely affecting his performance.
Last night was just dispiriting in an all too familiar fashion. How many times have we witnessed games like that in recent years. Decent crowd, off the back of a couple of uplifting away wins, bit of a feel good factor around the place, and we then come out and turn in a flat performance like that, killing the atmosphere stone dead. We really are the World's most frustrating team at times!! I shouldn't be too surprised by it, heaven knows I've seen it often enough down the years, but everyone was so flat walking away from the ground last night.
Let's hope they pick themselves up from this and quick. They need to come out next week and deliver a statement performance again. Salford is the perfect opportunity to get back on the horse and pick up momentum once more. It's the usual rollercoaster stuff with us, when isn't it!!!
