The first few paragraphs of that article had me reaching for my 'disgusted of Warrington' pen. However, after reading the whole article, the guy has, albeit somewhat tongue in cheek, got it spot on.

I dont get why it as to be percieved as tongue in cheek unless im missing something. Its the truth pure and simple i would like to know how they are going to respond to it, one man as written it many of us think it.

It's written from a point of view that our game is a silly northern sport watched by the great unwashed who deserve to be mocked.
The underlying truth of the tale is that London haven't done themselves proud and if push came to shove they will be ousted. Hence the title about geographical. The reporter couldn't even get Tomkins' name right.

Nothing tongue in cheek about that report ,in fact the writer has hit the nail squarely on the head with so many problems that are affecting our game having been highlighted.

That article should be compulsory bed time reading for Brian Barwick if his intentions are to improve the public view of rugby league.

I think rl would have gotten a bigger shot in the arm if they had have appointed Brian Blessed to do the job, a larger than life character, who may have even knew more about rl than Barwick by his admission on his first interview.

I didn't have a clue who Barwick was then anyways!
