I make this over 30 players now that we have been linked with, its become quite amusing.

| i for one is very very bored of hearing about who we are linked with even when marwan mentions who we are going to sign or hinting i know he is keeping salford in the press but i just want us to get on with it behind closed doors and the next word out of the club regarding the player , is the signed players holding a salford top shaking nobles hand

Same article says any chance of Harrison Hansen coming is on ice as well which is disappointing.

| So that's Puletua 33 and Morley 36 as our starting props for next season, I hope Koukash isn't topping up pensions.
Shame about the Hansen situation too, Wigan have a fair bit of space on their cap next season and probably can offer him the same if not more than us.

| One thing about next season is that at least two clubs will be relegated at the end, possibly four. And that's not counting potential concessions (such as London, although as is the RFL says no club will receive preferential treatment).
With that in mind, short-term acquisitions are not a bad thing. It just depends on whether the players in question can still play at a decent level for another year.

| Puletua I can see at least one and maybe two more seasons of very good service but I'm sorry Morley I don't see playing more than 50% of the games next year. As others have said shame about Hanson as it would be nice to see in a red shirt like his Dad.

Isn't the restructure as nailed on as our signings for 2014 (i.e. not nailed on at all)? Some reasonably influential voices (Tony Smith being one, surprisingly) seem to be against the proposed changes.

| Seems to be a lot of Ageism being displayed. Why do people automatically assume that because someone reaches a certain age then they are no longer able to perform.
The reality is that there is a huge shortage of talent out there to fill all super leagues requirements.Would the same people be happy if we waited for the World Cup and try and steal a few cheap but unproven South Sea Islanders who could easily fail too shine in SL.
Most SL clubs are constantly rebuilding their squads and signing players 12 months or even 24 months in advance.Even then they very rarely give contracts for longer than 2 years with an option for a 3rd year.In light of that is there any harm in signing a proven SL quality forward who is still performing to a top level.
As has already been said we cannot take the risk on too much youth or unproven oversea players because of the impending change to the SL structure. We need to get in the top 8 and to do that we will need proven performers regardless of age.
We need to trust in our Coach and his staff that they will get the right players at the right price to get our club where we all want it to be.
