Re the thread title Orange with 6 days until pre-season it’s looking like the answer is No. That’s the way to sell those STs!

Looks like the squad starting pre season is not going to be that much different to last seasons. Did we have any on loan that we will lose ?

Only Ferreira from Hull and he’s thanked us and returned and Davis who has signed a one year with us.
So we have Stock in, Foster out. A 30 year old recruit from Skolars in and 38 year old Thurman (totally unclear what his status was) out. One assumes not all of the Skolars we had were on two year contracts so one assumes some of those will return to L1. Even so it’s a thin, inexperienced squad when you get past the first 13. Website says they are working hard so we will see. So far.....hmmm.

Nope. It feels like the social media/ website have begun to ramp up posts so I suspect we’ll hear soon.

Anti recruitment that will get the STs flowing. Gahan to TO.
I note HTH comment on Twitter that he’s buzzing to see who we’ll sign to replace from Skolars. Gallows humour alive and well. Ho hum!

It is depressing, to say the least.
we've not recruited well enough or in enough numbers
we've not appointed the assistants that were announced month ago
we've not sorted a shop out
we've not sorted a kit supplier out
we've announced a membership scheme that offer little incentive to anyone other than those 100 or so who probably would have bough a full season ticket anyway
we've continued to charge for Kids. Kids should be free with an adult.
our website is still run by the gimps at latch & sparrow after 3 years of sheer farce and when a chunk of their fee could pay an office member who could do what they do in minutes daily
our website has 2 academy stories, 2 women's stories and apparently, or fitness and conditioning background Head coach is excited about pre-season.....go figure

It's sadly expected, but the club just shuts down for 4 or 5 months a year. How are we supposed to become part of the community when we're not their in Autumn and at the start of Winter and then kicked out again in Late spring and Summer?

And still not confirmation as to when and for how long we will be denied access to the home ground Hughes pays for?

Sometimes you just have to trust the club knows what it’s doing on the recruitment front. The difficulty is that the club made such a horse’s rear of recruitment last year that trust is hard to come by and our ‘light touch’ and late approach to recruitment in the face of everyone else wrapping up their business by now is a legitimate concern. I’d like to be able to see more than a handful of competitive games next season so I hope we have a plan. It’s difficult to see where the wins come from. Much will depend I think on when we play teams like Widnes and Sheffield at home. Both good on their day but prone to off days. Could be another difficult season as is.

The club seem to think the core of the players who played a few decent games last season are the answer. We will be in the second year or a three year period where Hughes set a target of 5,000 fans. The recruitment policy is fundamentally incompatable with this target.

Today's newsletter confirms Errea as new kit and clothing partner. This has got to be a step forward from a rag and bonehead.
