Does Rohan strike you as a man who puts off difficult decisions? I think he wants to win a couple of Grand Finals, and if the spine isn't up there with the best in the league I don't think he'll hesitate. Up to the current players to step up.

I reckon we'll go ok. Proper strike from both centres changes the landscape entirely for the halves in particular. I think Smith came up with some inventive solutions to inherited problems last year but he's already unpicked a lot of the mess. So while I can see changes to the spine a year hence I don't think it'll be total upheaval. Though if we were to have a s### season, I doubt he'd sit on his hands.

We lost the grand final by 12 points well beaten but not disgraced. Our first choice team next year probably improves by at least 7 players!

To me thats a 50% potential improvement spending so I think good work done all round and hopefully we keep players fit.
I know saints were missing a few as well so they still out ahead of the pack for me but if Leeds get thst team out most games then we will see how good the halves really are with front foot ball.

Myler will have another year on his contract. Austin and Sezer will be out of contract so you would resign at least one of them. Leeming can’t get past a kid who is only just learning the role, and Tetevano will be the biggest earner at the club and out of contract.

Changing them all is entirely possible if not probable. My bet is that we sign a Fullback, only one of the halves stays, Leeming could go depends on this year (he needs a big one) and Tetevano is definitely leaving to be replaced by a big hitter prop.

...or Leeds are waiting until after the World Cup to try to make a big bang announcement and then squad numbers to boost season tickets? Can't blame GH for wanting to do that.

Re the squad, players brought in outside the first seventeen will make a difference over time as well. Smith's comments about being surprised not to have a bunch of players in their early 20s in reserve probably sums up what he's aiming for - reserves who have some experience and want to bust a gut to prove themselves and earn a first team spot. How many of these squad players will still be here in two years is up to them, but I'd fully expect a bit of turnover every year there especially with Academy players coming through as well.

This is the key issue fir me.
RS has done well with the squad clear out but likely won't have a full team of his choosing until next year.
We will have a lot of key positions to fill or replace. Those tjat aren't replaced will/ should be on just a year deal to save us changing the spine in one go.

I hope we are lining up the players now, we don't just need players who can play those positions..we need top class in at least two or three of them and good or better in the rest *if* we are to push for top 2

Also Leeds Live confirmed the signings of Olpherts, McDonnell, Sangare, Roberts, Hooley, Ruan and many more before they have been announced on our club website, so they are pretty reputable.
