So joe martin has decided to call it a day. I was not overly impressed when we signed him especially with us having alex walker on trial who for me is a far better player and letting him leave and saying we didn't need another fullback and then we signed joe. To be fair to joe he tried his best whatever position he was asked to play and wouldn't of cost the club much so good luck to the lad for the future.

Aye, and will free a bit of brass up for Simon Grix to use.

Best outcome,no-one other than Grixy knew why he was there anyway.

Listening to Grix interview today doesn't look as though we've got any more signings in the near future - bit disappointing if that means we're not signing the Aussie winger/Centre who looked as though he'd be very exciting addition.

Yes,thought same, bit disappointingly short IMO.Needed that centre and we never have enough line breaking forwards-unless we are saving big news to coincide with the kit launch...

Fingers crossed, the squad still looks a bit thin to me.

All down to the budget the new BOD will give him and their contacts in market to get good quality and value.

Looks to me as they are being circumspect in what they spend, which may be a plan or a lack of funds.

I would hope it is not a lack of funds after what they said at the fans forum. Mick gledhill did say a while ago that some clubs are holding back from signing players until they see what grading they get from img but who knows if that is true or not. From my point of view i would still like to see some players brought in to replace worthington and aston as well as joe martin. I don't think ingham or wood would be good enough as back up in the halfs they need to fight it out to be back up to moore at hooker and woody is by far a better fullback then halfback so i think we need better cover if joe or louis get injured and also replacements for greg and joe too.

The centre situation seems a big faux pas if we have not signed the Aussie lad. Allowing one of the best centres in the league to leave and not having a replacement lined up just seems a big mistake. We look really good in every other position so to go in to the season with only recognised Centre would be a shame. I'm going to disagree with Terry in regards the half backs, I doubt that we have money to spare to bring in anyone else in that position and obviously it would be nice to avoid injuries but if we do pick them up we have another 3 players who have experience playing that position.

Still hopeful that maizen has signed with instagram activity still backing that up with several family members suddenly following fax and no other clubs ( I’m a great believer in things aren’t coincidence) maizen himself following fax walmsey, tangata and king . If I was to make an educated guess they might me waiting for visas etc to be sorted similar to keven appo to Bradford. Difference is fax like to be Uber secretive even removing a post on faxfans forum discussing possible signings which mentioned maizen . I suspect deals have fallen through in the past because of certain circumstances and fax will be trying to mitigate that . We currently have a squad of 24 and I stand by my previous comments of needing a centre and a half , I’m assuming that Grix is expecting cole Oakley to step up and be challenging for a second row spot at least in rotation so in some ways given he only featured in one game last season is like a new signing, he’s had a year of training within the Grix mould and looks to have bulked up significantly, if his rugby ability matches his physical development then he could be having a great season like tibbs did last year . I’ll be honest the takeover has made things rather disjointed including preseason friendlies etc and the off season has been a little sporadic in terms of news etc . Late signings are possible as we have seen with other teams and fax in the past so let’s hope the squad isn’t finished yet .

Well as of 4 days ago JM was not listed in the Sunshine Coast Falcons squad for 2023 who he was with last year, so it looks like he's gone somewhere else.
To the Panthers?
Time will tell.
