Now this is class, coming from the chairman of a SL club, who currently have 11 overseas players !!!'"
As other posters have pointed out, you need to read the article in the context it was meant. Because of the change in the salary cap in Australia plus the excange rate and tax law changes, it is going to be nigh on impossible for any super league clubs including Wigan and Waringtom etc, to attract big name Ausies over here in the future, at least not without taking a huge slice of their salary caps.
Therefore it is for that reason that i believe most clubs in super league will have to look closer to home and in particular their home grown talent i.e. under 20s etc for their future stars.
Hull kr imo are not in too bad a position with some very good prospects coming through the ranks though it will be a year or two before one or two of them will come to the fore.
During this time i think it makes good sense to sign players like Taylor and Hodgson on long term deals with James Green and Salter not far behind and retain the services of Galea etc to help bring them on, plus a couple of good Australian signings of the calibre of Blake Green and Micheal Dobson if they can be found for the right price.
With regards to Ben Galea, personaly i would love the club to offer him a coaching position at Rovers after he hangs up his playing boots, as his experience and knowledge would be invaluable in helping the younger talent coming through in the future.
