If you look at Google Maps, the town centre looks easy walking distance away from the ground and there are shopping centres, etc. That might avoid the long queue away from the ground.

The local cricket club let you park and is free on the road near by (Beech Walk) if you are early enough. Makes for a quick get away. Though you have got a bit of a walk to get to the ground, it means you get ahead of the queue when you join the road out of Leigh.
And if you do, the route through is good but you need to check on Google maps as it's easy to get it wrong. Pennington Avenue if you look it up.
