Please enlighten me as to why we couldn't sign one when Gateshead have managed to sign four PNG players.

Before someone says we have I know. But they sign four.

They are all PNG internationals. That's how they've managed it

You are aware that there are criteria you have to meet to sign overseas players? If we had wanted to sign those 4 PNG internationals there wouldn't have been a problem. The fact that we tried to sign a player that never had a cat in hells chance of getting a work permit means that there is a government/RFL conspiricy against us is laughable. There is only the club to blaim on this one. Unfortunately for the past 10 years we haven't learned our lesson when it comes to understanding the criteria. May be one day we can employ someone who understands the employment and border laws.

Well when I read the clubs post I thought the RFL were the stumbling block, which got me thinking that the lads unsubstantiated ban was the reason. Any way I did know about the criteria but didn't know that all four were internationals. How many overseas players do they have now then?

Fax have 3 just come over, only 1 is an international, no problems getting them here.

They dont have to be internationals just have to have to played nrl games if they're from Australia and im not sure if curtis had

I'm sure it's more than just being an "international" player for the PNG players. Don't they have to have played in a World Cup game in either 2008 or 2013 World Cups and I don't think Gary Lo has done that. It was being said that he was to receive a £40k contract and a place on a course at Newcastle Uni!!!!

Thunder have also signed a player, Dayne Craig, who is not an NRL player and won the Player of the Year in the NSWRL Ron Massey Cup competition in 2014, signed from Western Suburbs Magpies. Other clubs seem to struggle to get visas but Thunder seem to know all the answers to the questions to get one.

Featherstone have two unknowns from Oz plus a yet to be announced Cook Islander. Nope I still don't know how some can and some can't.

Have Fevs players arrived yet? Fax's players are now here and from what I hear its simply a case of going about the process correctly and early as the applications can take a few months and by the sounds of it the 3 we signed from the mounties we signed very early last season.

whitehaven also have 3 PNG players coming over subject to visas but that shouldn,t be a problem
