Do we need one? Is there any chance of getting one?

I know we were nearly dead and buried a year ago and we are in some kind of 'Transition period' at the moment off the field with our new BOM but from a perosnal point of view, I feel that if we really want to kick on for 2015 we need a big(ish) signing, one with Super League/NRL experience like we had with Robbie Paul to help boost our crowds. Winning the Northern Rail was obviously a great achievement but I think the stay away fans just treat it as a day out rather than making them want to buy a season ticket for the season after.

Obviously I'm not expecting us to sign Benji Marshall, but a household name with a year or two left in the tank would surely go down well. To be honest I'm not even sure who is or might be available at the moment. Its a shame Highams playing so well at Wire or he'd have been an ideal person for the job.

Hope we can win these play offs get a few extra quid in the bank and splash out on somebody.

Why would we want a big tent?

rather have a 'solid squad' than an expensive 'has been' ex SL....ETC

I can see where people are coming from when they say we don't need one for next season because we ARE playing well enough this season and I have no idea what the board are planning to use as a push for season tickets in the off season but its going to have to be something fantastic to get the people out again, this season has been absolutely shocking attendance wise, the marquee signing is the only solution I can see.

PS Sonny Bill Williams didn't end up at Salford so we could just go for him.

There have been so many, Ex SDL players in the last 12 or so years that have come for "one last payday", and been shocking!

I would list a few, but no doubt a certain poster on here would accuse me of " Rocking the boat".......

The guy has only played ten games, split by a huge injury absence of 18 weeks. It was in the second half of last season at Hull, where he came good, and that was what influenced so many Hull fans to say they wanted him to be retained.

I don't think we can get a bigger name than Robbie Paul IMO & signing him was great but we'll probably not see a signing with both on field & off field attractions like that for a long time. There should be loads of Salford players being released & signing a few probably won't break the bank so I think a good depth in squad is more important than one big pay cheque player. Hopefully we sign some Big front rowers as we need to beef up our pack & a quick winger would be a bonus too.

Lee Briers?

Lee Briers ? Where would you play him and who would you drop to accomodate him ?

I think he is a good player but how many more seasons is he going to play ?

Jamie Ellis would be a better option imo.

It was said at Wednesdays LISA meeting that we had signed 2 SL players for next season , but no names were mentioned till after the play-offs .
