As soon as you come out of Wigan North western station, cross the road as it is easier to do it here. Turn left under the railway bridge. Follow the main road away from the town centre.
After 10 mins you go over a canal bridge. On the other side turn right onto the tow path, past the back of B&Q and you will come to the stadium. You will see the floodlights miles away and there will be plenty of other walkers.
