| I'm not saying for a second that either Ratch or Trent have disappointed, but Chris Hill has been easily our best, most consistent forward this year. When you consider he came from Leigh while Trent was in the NRL, you have to take your hat off to him

| Not voting on this one. Reserving judgement, as it’s too early.
Ratchford was outstanding on Saturday, and was before his injury. If he can continue his present form until the end of the season, there will be no need for a poll, it will be him.
Chris Hill has made the step up look easy, quality signing. I think that some have got a bit carried away and are still taking into account the fact that he wasn’t playing in SL last year when assessing the impact he has had this year. He’s been brilliant all season, one of our most consistent performers.
Waterhouse is our most underestimated player at the moment IMO. Funny situation in some ways; If you look at overseas quota players, they’ve all be outstanding or crap. He bucks the trend by being a solid dependable workhorse. He’s not got the flair or game breaking plays some fans expected of him. However, it’s still early days, and were he to add this to his game, he would be the next Matt King.
So I’m not voting. Long term though, if you were to ask me to guess, I’d go for Ratchford, just because I think he’s got something a bit different, a bit of a wow factor.
As an aside; Did you know his younger brother is in our under 18s? I didn’t, and he was already here when Stefan signed.

| One thing about our recruitment/retention of players in recent times is that it is done in what appears to be a structured, calculated and considered manner.
I would be embarrassed if Warrington were one of the clubs scambling around trying to gaz-zump each others with offers to Matty Smith - he must think all his Christmas's have come at once. To think fans from clubs now talking up the ability of Matty Smith were the same ones of the opinion that Stefan Ratchford wasn't good enough for them last year!

Absolutely right. St Helens in particular have got a real nerve since they spent a couple of years visibly attempting to get rid of Smith the first time they had him, and only using him when all other options had been explored.
On the original question, all three signings were made for a specific reason, on different money and with different long-term objectives. I've been impressed with all three, though I expect of the three Hill is probably the one who's surpassed expectations in the shortest period of time the most considering he was the one stepping up a division.
But Ratchford is class and a rare gem: a creative English back from whom we can expect a decade of quality from. Look around the Super League and, Tomkins aside, there aren't many of those around.

| The correct answer is Hill (so far) but I've been pleased with all 3.
We're clearly working to replace the older members of the squad with top quality young players, either from within or without. In the next 2 years the average age of this team will be about 5 years lower but they'll have a lot of experience too. I'd imagine Smith will probably leave at that time and the legacy will be a team ready to challenge for a decade.

| I clicked to vote for Stefan, but not so sure now. Having seen a lot of Chris Hill at Leigh I can't get over how much he has bulked up! Chris is doing a brilliant job in Super League, always knew he would and I was made up when we signed him. Ratchford seems to have just slotted in seamlessly all over the park, and Trent has provided the experience and consistency one would expect from a player with his experience. Three top quality signings who seem to really enjoy playing for our club.

| Of the three I think Ratchford certainly has the wow factor and wish we had seen more of him injury free, think he will be a great success. Waterhouse has 'suffered' a bit IMO due to reputation/expectation.
Hill has impressed me the most though because of his honest endeavour and solid, consistent performances, particularly as he is starting out in SL and let's be honest the team's form was uneven to say the least at the start of this season.
The future is bright.

Agree with all that. Chris Hill has really impressed me with his work ethic, Waterhouse is playing well, but there's still a lot more to come. Eventually the offloads will start to come a bit more often and players like Ratchford and Myler will reap the dividend.
