What Brian McD says is consistent with Gary H's previous comments. Namely we've got room under the salary cap for a quality signing if someone becomes available. Something might materialise from GH's visit to Aus and NZ.

Saw this earlier today....intriguing comments from the boss. All well and good, but I hope we aren't simply going to bring in anyone who's available. Whoever we do bring in now will have to be a true quality signing who will add something to the squad, or I would prefer to see us sticking with the young talent of our won that we're bringing through.

I'm not even sure what position we should be strengthening to be honest. I would say an Ali type second rower if anyone, but even still that wouldn't be essential, either that or a Utility back.

Good news, depending on whether you see glass as half full or half empty.
Sadly I'm in the latter category...there's a pretty big gap between wanting or having space for a 'special signing' and actually making one.
Seeing as it's nearly Christmas though, and in anticipation of being totally senseless over the festive break, I'll cherish the hope of seeing Billy Slater, Sam Thaiday or Johnathon Thurston in Blue and Amber.

The only area where we could maybe strengthen now is perhaps the quality replacement centre for Keith Senior, to take a little pressure of Zak, but then again, on relection that would also feel like doing Hardaker a massive dis-service having awarded him the coveted No4 jersey for 2012 and beyond. Although any of the fellas mentioned by Stinkwort above would be very welcome!!!
