| I can see it really harming the working class image of the sport.
Personally, anyone who takes MBS' money should be ashamed.

| Mickelson was quite dismissive of the Saudis while directly referencing human rights abuses. Although that was before they dangled $200 million in his face. Everyone has their price.

I think for that sort of money principles go out of the window for some, especially when there are too many good young golfers in front of you limiting your chances of winning and everything that goes with it, rumour has it he is a big gambler so maybe he needs the Saudi's to subsidise him, one thing for sure though whatever peoples thoughts are on the subject he's certainly paid his dues to the PGA with the time and effort put in supporting junior golf over there.

Working class image is a very strange comment.
We must have been to very different golf clubs.
Most are stuffed with old blokes in pink jumpers who think they are a cut above the rest.
If ever there was a sport of "oneupmanship", golf is that sport.

Pink jumper says it all, that's golf for you.
It's all snobbery, although there are some good lads play the game. I'll probably dust my clubs down in a few years time and have another go.
Point being, it's a long way from "working class" both in image and on the course.
If it was working class, they'd be happy to let you play in jeans and a T shirt and not have some "class" dress code.
Some clubs dont let yo buy a pint, unless you have shirt, tie and jacket on - not working class.
Even when I played at Lupset many yeas ago, there were some right bloody snobs and jobsworths there. Plenty of good lads but, some of it was ridiculous.

Municipal courses do, the rest of your post is a bit over the top in general, certain rules have to be in place at all clubs to keep certain standards, naturally the more well known clubs have a higher standard of etiquette and moral behaviour expected of they're standing.

I actually don’t own a pink jumper and do come from a working class background. It has not stopped me from moving to two private members clubs. I treat everyone the same because we are even sadly you, I call nobody sir and never will.
We have standards but unfortunately to cater for the youth these have been lowered on the dress code and yes I think it is a retrograde step. To apply to join you need two existing members to sponsor you which I would think would be a stretch for you and then go through an interview. It is possible for any member at this time to object to your application but who would do that.

The clubs in Wakefield have done away with the jacket and tie to go into the bar but you would not get far trying to play wearing jeans and a T shirt. It is not class oriented but more to do with etiquette on the course. I played in a corporate golf day once and was drawn with a player who fits your description. It soon became obvious why. He did actually win a prize for the shortest drive off the tee because he missed the ball completely. In a stableford competition 36 points is par he scored 4 and they were on one hole where he won the nearest the pin contest.

You just can't help yourself can you, your not happy if you can't be confrontational, your daily whinge should be aimed at wrencat he's the one what made the comment not me, the person on here I referred to is Mopsey on the Wakey board and not specifically the VT, but once again you've jumped in, another classic case of you visiting Pinderfields once again to have your foot removed from your gob, I'm actually over whelmed that you've managed to join two private members clubs, no really I bet when you applied for selection I bet you didn't embarrass yourself by talking like Fred Trueman, you sent me a PM asking me not to embarrass you, I've now realised I don't have to you do a perfectly good job yourself.
