   WWW.RLFANS.COM • View topic - DoR - New Coach - Investor & Adam - New signings
Only trying to be helpful here - I’ll take it down if
people want.
Maybe 1 thread ‘to rule them all’ ?

Adam is ‘re-energised’ although I don’t like the sound of not being
Energised !

IMO Myler gets the gig because he’s 100% linked to
a very obvious investor with CASH.

Head Coach - without any shadow of any doubt
it has to be a Aussie aged 33-42 approx who has
Maximum ambition but has worked in a Comp like
The NRL which is 20 years ahead of SL.

New players - wow where do we start ?
Albert Kelly was a GIGANTIC player in 16-17
Sneyd was a craftsman

How do we find players like that ?

What Id really love is a 6’ 2” 15st centre with pace to burn

We haven’t had a Centre that scores 18 tries a season for a long long time , if ever. Big fast centres are like your horses in
Chess ! You need them and they’re vital.

Let’s see what any new Head Coach thinks and
I am certainly of the opinion Adam is staying based
on comms that I’ve seen.

Could we finish 6th this Season or am I smoking
dried cabbage leaves ?
A lack of energy from Pearson could just be that he's been fed up of the batterings, fed up of scrimping and scraping around the costs of running the club, fed up of the emails they'll have been receiving from disgruntled fans. If there is an injection of cash coming in, he's probably more optimistic (more energised?) about the opportunities we now how have to move forwards.

Re the centre scoring 18+ tries, Yeamo will be fuming reading that
You're on harder stuff than cabbage leaves if you think we'll finish 6th
Myler's appointment is no doubt a caveat to investment, but as we are crying out for a funds injection it's a fair trade off from me and the guy gets my wholehearted.

I think back to a few weeks ago and if offered what we have now I would have ripped and eaten the arm off.

We should get a quick chance to judge his play in the game by the coach he appoints and the impending arrival of player (both temporary and for next season)

He's got a very quick opportunity to prove himself.

All said, my engagement with the club has massively increased this last few days.

Another false dawn? I just don't feel it is.

I also don't feel it's a journey to the top, but one that will halt the humiliations and put us back in the pack much sooner then I could of hoped.
I'm looking at it from a view point of Myler HAS to be good. If this is the type of route he wants to go down now his playing days are pretty much up, getting it wrong at the first hurdle, after having so much trust put in him by a SL club could seriously hamper his chances of important off field roles moving forward.
If he gets it right and manages to make us a stronger club on the pitch then he will open up many other job opportunities for himself. Imagine if he comes in and gets us a coach and some players who end up getting us into the playoffs next season. His stock will rise pretty quickly.
I give the lad credit for backing himself and taking on such a bold move and just hope it doesn't ruin (or heavily dent) a new career pathway for him.
As I’ve just posted on another thread, I don’t see why Myler can’t do the job, that’s if he’s appointed, has to extricate himself from commitments at York first. At least 4 other clubs have youthful ex players in the role, notably Salford who pick up gems. Is Grix running the team for the duration of this season and a new coach coming in at the end of it? I’ll be disappointed if McDermott or Anderson get the gig. When is this speculated cash available? It’s all ifs and buts again. My mattress is well and truly strapped to my back but the next 3 weeks is a very pivotal period in the history of our club, get it wrong and I can hear the last death knell.

I know that ‘youthful’ is a subjective term and you can knock a few years off for when they were appointed but who are the other current DoRs in SL? Blease is 59. Chris Chester is 45 and had a couple of head coach roles.

That said, 33 isn’t a kid. I looked at a couple of recent interviews he gave to the York in-house media yesterday and he came across pretty well, albeit fielding the standard softball questions. If they were planning on making him DoR, then somebody else has thought he is ready for a leadership role - there’s a difference between learning your trade at York and at Hull, of course.

If he comes as part of a package with money, that’ll make his job harder (gaining respect of his reports) but also much easier because of the money.

My press conference bingo card features ‘long-term’ and ‘vision’ prominently. Hull need a few immediate good decisions to steady the ship. If he’s thinking too much about what comes after that, I doubt he’ll ever get there.
Just sounds like another nuts decision by Pearson tbh. Doesn't make any sense at all apart from money. You would expect a Dor to be an experienced man, someone who's been around rugby league and coaching for years and knows backroom matters inside out. Myler is not that person. I'm sorry but I just feel like this will just be another disastrous period in FCs history but obviously I hope I'm wrong. Just when I thought things might be about to pick up massively with Pearson going and new ownership etc we get this, left field crazy appointment and Pearson staying. I just think nothing will change. History says Pearson hasn't got a clue, this just reinforced that. Utterly deflated and not what the majority of fans want
