KPP needs a rocket up his backside if he's going to replace Bateman. I've not been impressed with him this season, not sure about the hype as it currently stands. Hope to be proven wrong.

You have to wonder how long ago the club knew of Bateman leaving. Maybe Jai Field will get upgraded to marquee status alongside Bevan in 2023.

Wonder if the Bateman leaving story is the reason Peet was so shall we say miffed at Nicholson leaving ?
Would've been a massive opportunity for him next season but it's not to be.

To be fair to the lad he needs to be playing in the pack not at centre.

i think the fact that we have recognised that we need specialist centres (2 years without) will hopefully drive that, barring them being injured.

i commented the other day in a discussion with some Saints fans that my criticism of the club this year was the lack of recognised centres - 2 (Hardaker included in those 2) and Thornley who we knew to be injury prone. That has led to 2nd row playing there virtually all season, so hoping that if we get both signings completed, that we dont need to rely on Isa, KPP, Farrell or Bateman to play there at all, and they can focus on playing where they are specialist players

Shame they can't recognise that we need a specialist Hooker instead of the non Hooker we have now, It's like putting Uniroyal budget tyres on a Maserati MC20

I haven't agreed with your bashing of Powell over the years (I think we were better with him than with Micky Mac after he left), but I'm in agreement now. Hopefully O'Neill's time has come and we'll see a lot more of him next year (more than Powell).
