Patton and Lilley on 2 year deals can’t see either of them going

Whilst im not suggesting either of them are going (ive no idea), i think we all know contract lengths arent worth the paper they are written on

Ah, just say it. You’ll get that either way mate to be fair. Is it a Super League half? Or a stalwart Championship half?

Sammut?

I'm sure we'll sign him when all his pace has gone.

The pattern of signings over the last 10 years (to me, anyway) is that we look at all the players who played really well against us, then sign as many of them as we can, even if they’ve been gash in all the other games they’d played in. Blackmore would fit that. He’s played ok against us.
Re: Three new signings : Wed Aug 10, 2022 9:00 am
I think it's far more likely we just look at what positions we need to fill and then see who's being offered around by the agents that fall within our pitiful budget.
Our days of headhunting people are long gone.

If the club has a significant chunk of budget tied up in the current halves I could see why they’d be tempted to move one on and reinvest across the squad.

The problem is I don’t have faith in them to get recruitment right, especially if we’re looking at the likes of Blackmore.

Although out of form, there is a decent player in both Patton and Lilley. They’re not the worst halves we’ve ever seen - Siejka and Herbert spring to mind for that!

I have a feeling we’ll try to find a club for Patton and go with Lilley + youngsters….
