Tory Leadership Contest : Thu Jul 07, 2022 1:37 pm
Now that the Tory machine have dumped their electoral disaster, Lyin Boris, (maybe)

The grunts are now jockeying for pole position to succeed him, with Suella Braverman already saying she’s interested.
Bookies have Ben Wallace as early favourite

Gormless Gove an outside bet :D

Interesting that you use "jockeying for position", rumour has it that it will, initially at least, be a big field. Plenty of runners and riders.
Hunt will definitely be in there.

It has to be said that many will be damaged goods, not having been brave enough to stand up and be counted when the no confidence vote was made a few weeks ago.
And for those who sat on their hands or publicly backed BJ, how could anyone trust their judgement ?

Why would you not throw your hat in the ring as a Tory MP? Straight in as PM and not exactly a tough act to follow.

Sunak and Javid resigned, they need a clear run to number 10.

The Brains Truss?
Mad Nad?
The Mogg?

Let's be honest, these three fit a couple of the key criteria:
- They are so self unaware that they might actually think they have the intellect and ability to do the job
- Tory members are so unhinged that they might actually vote for them in the leadership election

Absent a win by any of them I think we can say goodbye to all of them in the cabinet going forward under relative heavyweights like Wallace or Tugendhat. Johnson's chaotic and unstable administration was hallmarked by him surrounding himself with idiots and inadequates.

I want Ben Wallace as he’s my local MP and personally stepped in when my step daughter, who was relocating, didn’t get the school that was on her door step. Not only that, he moved on a load of “travellers” that the local council and inept police force had failed to do for months

Did you vote for him in the last general election?

I remember the days when the EU referendum was going to fix internal divisions within the Conservative party...
