I doubt you will find many of the de Pfeffel party seeking the resignation of Starmer if and it is a big if found to have broken the law because they know it would be expected of every member of the government who actually set the rules to follow the honourable route and resign themselves. How would they explain to the public that they are different.
When it comes to Brexit why does it always blame remainers when things go wrong but yet balk if you dare suggest the failure it as been which is obvious for all to see.

In summary a less than impressive Labour performance.
Post partygate Boris got what he knew was coming but it wasn’t too bad in the greater scheme of things.
2 years now to move the party in its intended direction and get this nonsense behind them.

I agree.
It would be a cruel irony if Starmer was to resign and Johnson remain in post, especially as the Sue Gray report, which is likely to be damning, will no doubt show just how prevalent the party culture was inside no 10 and there are very likely more fines to come.

I note that Raab does not count Scotland and Wales to be part of the U.K. when he suggested Labour’s success was down to London only. Hoe can a party or the media believe that losing nearly 500 seats is mixed when you consider when the majority of these seats were last contested it was considered then to be a disastrous night for the Conservatives.

By the Mails very own definition the local election results were a “disaster” for Johnson and the tories :D

KS won’t resign if fined. What a hypocrite. Nandy and co have been kicked out of bed to spread the word!!

It’s not the same as BJ as he has 12 investigations!!! Surely it’s just one breach, as he has been spouting for weeks.

I'm ok if Starmer is fined and consequently resigns but, surely, he shouldn't go unless Johnson also resigns ?

Perhaps Starmers indiscretion/s were blinded by Angela's pins, after all they have on more than one occasion caused Boris to stutter while stood at the box :D

This "London doesn't count" thing is in its own right deeply stupid and reminds me of Republicans in the US who say similar about voters in big cities (subtext in that case: they're mostly black and brown people so who cares).

Raab of course would do well to pay attention - his 4% majority in his London commuter belt constituency means he is toast if the general election goes anything close to how people voted on Thursday.

So the Mails significant new evidence turns out to be the day’s work itinerary

Although this looks to be a Labour left leak, the government/Durham police cosy relationship needs investigating
