I think what we’ve lacked this season is some impact or “punch” off the bench. Long term that could be Litten, but looks like Paea will do that for us next year. We are a couple of senior forwards light this year, after losing Hadley & Pritchard, so this seems to address that issue. I think it’s a good signing and adds to an already formidable pack.
Fonua has left some big shoes to fill, but hopefully the new winger will be able to give us similar go forward. People are pointing at his lack of games, but Talanoa wasn’t even in a full time rugby environment when we signed him. He’s turned out pretty good!. Suppose we also have the salary cap to balance, so maybe he’ll be a bit cheaper as well.
I don’t question the recruitment anymore, as Motu and Radford have been spot on so far in getting what we need.
