Your comment re DF is 100% accurate. We didn’t know they had made an offer and he is currently staying with Milky.
There will be a mini transformation now as the dead wood is removed but it will take time. The few that go to Magic will give him a roar if he comes on as he hopes. Most of us are lifted again simply by his arrival. Obviously the standard doom and gloom mongers won’t change anyway. Who cares, we are back on the Trinity roller coaster again.

Cas contacted him first, Trinity beat their offer.
Whether he would have taken Cas up on their offer we don't know (only he knows!)

I am told that he telephoned Milky to say that he was coming back over and Milky's opening comment was "Welcome to Cas, Dave" to which Dave replied "Errr, no, I've signed for Wakey instead"

And, as you say, he is staying with him!
