Kings of Rugby:
It will always be wrong (imo) that the club has the resources to retain and strengthen the squad - but instead decides to follow the rules of the cap. Especially when the real reason we have a cap in the 1st place, is because other clubs got jealous of our success.
What you are advocating here is that the club deliberately break the rules of the competition because you don't like a particular rule. Moreover, you are saying that, by not breaking that rule, the club is at fault. Now, lots of fans believe that the salary cap holds the sport back, so I can certainly understand your frustration with the rule. But to say the club are at fault for maintaining their obligations to the competition is a ludicrous position to take. Until and unless the competition as a whole agrees to change or remove the cap, all of the clubs have no choice but to adhere to it.
As to this season, we have been in a poor run of form for a while and I don't think anyone is happy with the way we are playing. But the fact is that, even if we win nothing this year, that would still be the first season Peet would not have won a trophy, and we'd still be among the favourites to win everything again next year. Plus, we're not done yet! There's plenty of games left to play, players to return from injury and form can change in a heartbeat. So, I'm with Jason65 on this - we still have many more reasons to be cheerful than depressed, and if that makes us happy clappers, so be it. But, honestly, having to resort to dismissing people whose perspectives you do not share by labelling them with a derisive nickname doesn't speak well for your arguments.
You have a choice, to support the team or not, as you see fit. If you don't like what you see, don't watch, it's that simple. Just don't expect everyone else to agree with you that a couple of months of poor performances is proof of terrible mismanagement, and show their opinions the same respect you would want for your own.
