There's lots of work for him to do for sure but he looks a competitor at least. He looks a slow burner of a player to me, who'll just take that bit of time to really feel comfortable in the first team. Over time I think he'll develop in to a workhorse style second rower but if it'll be enough to cut a career at Wigan, only time will tell. 

I've posted elsewhere Jon that I would rather keep Douglas than Vaughn and Sambou combined. Obviously that's based on the here and now, rather than what they may become, but I haven't seen anything in either that puts them even close to the class of Douglas. I really can't fathom what the point of this piece of recruitment is. On the face of it, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever especially if you give credence to the rumour that Vaughn (and possibly Sambou) came to Wigan on a substantial pay rise. I haven't seen anything in either that even suggests they'll be anywhere close to Wigan's first team anytime soon.

I hope the coaching staff have seen something I haven't, because all I can see is that we're replacing a fine, near first team ready player, with two average Joes.

Also, why is Vaughn being talked about alongside Douglas?


Douglas isn't going to make the Wigan squad. It's a simple case of numbers - he's behind Miski, Marshall and Eckersley.  Fourth choice winger, with a better youngster in front of him. 


Vaughn is a centre and second row cover.  Something we really need. 


The two, apart from swapping teams, aren't related. 

What on Earth are you talking about? Douglas already makes the Wigan squad. If you were taking notice you'd have spotted him scoring a hat-trick on Friday! He may not make the squad if everyone is fit but that's a complete irrelevance. You need players able to step up when a first team member is missing....you know...like Douglas did the other day.


Douglas is a better winger than Sambou. Vaughn isn't a centre. He may be ok at 2nd row but, currently, he looks too small and isn't playing there for Salford, let alone for Wigan. Chan looks a better bet than Vaughn at 2nd row and we already have him signed. 

Not really sure what part of this opinion you're struggling with unless it's that you simply disagree which is fine. You're entitled to your opinion.
