I think it would probably make more sense to give the teams that are due to play them bye weeks wouldn’t it? As you say it’d be a bit of a mess with the loop fixtures. You’d have some teams finishing the year having played less games

I don't see the rationale from Wigan's perspective. It pretty much seems like a straight swap for Sambou and, at this point from what I've seen, Douglas is by far the better prospect. 


I also don't see the point from Sambou's perspective as, if Douglas is feeling his first team opportunities could be limited at Wigan going forward (which to be fair, they probably are) then Sambou's are even more so. I'd actually have understood it more had he stayed at Saints and both he and Douglas were the next cabs off the rank as the incumbents are currently a mid 30s NRL player on holiday and possibly the most injury prone winger over the last 3 or so years. I'm sure there would be far more opportunities for both of them in that setup. 


I know that YG is friends with someone on the coaching staff at Wigan. Maybe he can shed more light on this. I'd be interested to hear Wigan's reasoning if it was their decision.
