| Total rubbish IMO. He's had a good season and a season ruined by injury in his two years there.
Ultimately though it matters little to us. Had he gone and stayed fit, ripped the league up and loved it we wouldn't be getting him back.

| Presumably since whichever the last British player was who had the nerve to come home again. You don't dare walk away from the NRL.

| If you had to list the worst ever Australian signing in the UK there would be a top 500.
Just another moaning Aussie having a bleat.

| Its a bit harsh being number 1, but he was the marquee signing for the Warriors last year. Last year he was OK and looked like he'd kick on. The expectation was he'd make the Warriors a good team, not be dragged down to their level. That's why clubs sign star players. That's what he failed to do - especially once Johnson got injured - and that's why he's been judged harshly.
I do think there's a fair bit of anti-pom bias in that list though. Compared to expectations I'm not sure why anyone thought Edmondson was a failure - he was bog average in SL and it showed. Thorman didn't exactly go over as a star either, even though he'd played for England IIRC.
Mossop would have been a bigger let down than Tomkins, as expectations were high following the success of other international forwards from England. Again though, he got an injury early so even that's harsh.

| In terms of value and excpectation he has to be number 1. How often. Do people have a go on a player for not been worth what we paid or pay him. He lasted a season and cried homesick. That happens often when they come here and people hammer them for it. In terms of exception he has faiïled to be a supersr and to be sorry what they paid for him.

| Yes he did 2 seasons but early into second season he asked to move. Nzw found a replacement and his return was announced. He did not play a season worth of games. Cannot hide that they were excepting Slater type finished player but did not justify the money. He had hype going there but and did not live up to it. James Graham and Sam Burgess went to the NRL with less hype but became star players when you measure what Sam Tomkin's did then he has to be close if not No1.
Now did he go to the right clubv now that is another matter.

| Whether he is the 'worst ever' is debatable, but in recent memory he has to be up there - the Warriors had so much expectation and were paying top top dollar 'the million dollar man' is what he was hyped as - he clearly hasn't delivered based on his price tag.
In his first season, he didn't stink the house out like he did his 2nd, but he was nothing more than average either - average in attack and poor in defence - not what you'd expect from a top dollar signing. A young kid could have come in and reasonably be expected to replicated Tomkins first season.
So whilst he may not necessarily be 'the worst ever', in terms of value for money, or return on investment, he's certainly gonna rank right near the top for worst.
