Hi All, new to the forum.
Is the club going to do the same as previous years and let players be announced elsewhere and not at least say thanks for all they have done for Leigh.

The majority of the squad including fringe players and confirmed absences next year were at LSV "to troll the jolly bowl around" after the MPG and receive the deserved adulation from fans. Feel that that will stay with them longer than any amount of well-intentioned flannel on social media.

Now that the season has ended why are the club the still delaying the announcement of players signed for next season? Very frustrating for fans and just leads to negative social media. Having secured a place in Super League we should be pushing publicity and promotion of the club if we want to see crowds of 7000 to 8000 next season, particularly with the World Cup about to happen on our doorstep.

The team did get a glorious send off, but we always seem to be the last to announce anything. We should be riding this wave of success instead of letting it fizzle away, the club could be advising on players, season tickets even the new kits. I liked the fan involvement with picking the kit last time.

The club has come on leaps and bounds this last 12 months but as you state the communication is still lacking
Point taken on the send off , but not everyone can attend games and the next best thing is to make these fans feel a part of the club.

One thing we have not seemed to do well in the past is acknowledge officially when players leave.
Communication with fan base has also been slow.
I am sad to see Adam go. He has been a rock in the forwards, playing long minutes and leading the charge. He has also played with the passion of a leader.
All the above said, I think we need to be a little patient in team/player announcements right now. Other SL teams have had a few weeks jump on us to dot the i’s on deals while we have been concentrating on getting to SL. Also, some agreed upon deals will have been SL dependant I imagine, so paperwork may have been on hold pending the result just 7 days ago.
People were quick to jump on the club last season when the squad was very slow to build. But clearly they knew what they were doing.
Let’s give the same people a bit of time and room to work their magic again.

Bongser is with Vanners all the way on this. As far as Twitter announcements go; it was Chris Chester’s birthday yesterday and seemingly still is today! Yes, an acknowledgement of Sid’s service to the club, maybe a showreel would be good for us and would keep the kettle boiling. Other players that we suspect/assume will be leaving may not yet have put pen to paper for another team and that makes it harder to put a positive spin on things.

As to the website, who knows? Can’t even get on it today!

Get the sad news out of the way and in doing so maintain “phatic communion” before (later) the fixture reveal, kit reveal, signings and s/t launch can bring things to the boil closer to the start of the new season.

As VL says some signings will be dependant on things either only just settled or, in the case of Lachlan’s status, yet to be settled.

Wasn’t a moan of such , just an observation, I got all moaned out under the Lucas era but that’s another story for another thread.
Wouldn’t expect too much news on signings until pre season starts and like already mentioned when fixtures /ST news Kit Launch is in full flow around Christmas time.

Be a good few signings announced by the end of the month...
