Looks like Lui isn't happening, but the club looking at a 'like for like' replacement (no direct quote from the club though) with a transfer fee incoming from Gold Coast. The obvious option would be a replacement from the NRL, I just wonder whether they would use the transfer fee to look at someone already in SL, if we can sign a non quota replacement that would be ideal.'"
I'd rather we spend the money on a quality centre. We're fine for forwards. This will be Ma'tautia's last year, Ratchford on the decline, Wrench still unavailable. It's clear to see we're in need of a centre for this season and beyond.

If I remember from a thread last year we were in for him and it was Jon Wells that mentioned it as well.

Pretty sure that Journalist gets his info from Forums so take that with a pinch of salt.

Or so it appeared. I know I keep banging on about it, but he's been great so far this year. Not a weak link in the attack on the left and very, very good defensively.

| Ratchford looks rejuvenated and I don’t think it is coincidence that he was kept on.

| +1 from me. Ratchford is no doubt at the tail end, but he's done some outstanding stuff this year. Both creatively and defensively. Deserves his place. Can't await for the explosiveness of Wrench though, so maybe Mata'utia gets to move to second row as and when.

I can't see Wrench being rushed back from that sort of injury. If May was quoted as being when his recovery is complete, then it's going to be at least June before he's anywhere near first team ready and, even then, he's going to be rusty.
Basically, I wouldn't be putting too much expectation on Wrench's shoulders for a long while yet.

Absolutely not. As Currie showed, it's hit and miss whether players can come back from that type of injury and still fulfill their potential.
Obviously with Currie it was a double bow, which is more proof that time needs to be taken with these injuries.

Apparantley we're keen again and making enquiries. Only just turned 29, would be a very good signing IMO.

| I like him but his injury record isn't the best is it?

| Hopefully he has a blinder tomorrow, good luck to him - unrecognisable from the player of last season. According to the Powell interview we spend a LOT of time now looking at recruitment (thankfully) and there is no point rushing his replacement. I'd be happy with Tanginoa despite injury record concerns. Is his injury record bad? I seem to think it is but am not sure.
