We are planning on setting off around 5am Saturday morning, parking at Ruislip then getting the tube into London (Piccadilly line), showing the kids a couple of the sites in London, then getting the tube (Jubilee or Metropolitan) back up to Wembley Park. Than after the match Metropolitan back to Ruislip.

Can anyone see any reason - ie are the tube strikes going to hinder this plan etc or any other reason why I cannot do this?

Does anyone know if/where all day parking is available in Ruislip?

I know little about the tubes or getting around in London although I am pretty sure I drove to Ruislip in 90 and did something similar. Afew of the old cells in the grey matter have died since then and can't quite remember!

Your best bet is to check the TFL web site (Transport For London), they give details on any weekend engineering works. They are usually pretty good, when it comes to any special events, and will not disrupt stations / lines around Wembley, although there might be work elsewhere.

Looks like the Metropolitan line is the only line effected so as long as we get the Jubilee from London to Wembley Park we should be ok.
