according to the Sydney Herald , it was Ben Te'o shoulder charge tackle in 2012 on him that led to the ban in 2013.
he's was injured for practically all of 2013 ( toe & ankle ) other undisclosed injuries have kept him out of reckoning at his present club St George this season .
hopefully we will be paying him in groats, and our next signing will be Kevin Penny ...

| Groat looks like a real gamble and a pretty strange one for a non-fed player. Young, injury prone, with a large gap missing from his playing career in 2013. I watched a highlights clip and came away feeling incredibly underwhelmed. I just don't understand why you'd waste a quota spot on such an unexciting player.
Hopefully he'll be a barnstormer and I'll eat every word. However, I feel my prediction is pretty safe.

Kevin Locke, Junior Sau, Rangi Chase, Michael Dobson, Lama Tasi, Matt Groats, Tony Puletua, Weller Hauraki, Steve Rapira, Tim Smith.
In short, no, no I cannot.
I imagine youll lose 1 or 2, (Tim Smith) but 3?

| and could someone clarify: if we have a non-fed palyer but loan him to (say) Hunslet, does he count on our non-fed quota or (say) Hunslet's?

Its a little difficult, as that has only become an option for [isome[/i players this year (its dependent on visa agreements). My understanding is:
Year long loan (no call back option): Hunslets (as in effect they "signed" him from Salford for a year)
Anything else: Salford.
90% certain but there is no specific mention in this years operational rules.

| Seem to remember seeing him a couple of years ago in the NRL and thinking is very mobile for someone so big, you'd hope that someone like Groat will learn from Morley and that if he gets fully fit him and Tasi make for a very big starting pair with plenty of grunt about them.
Groat is the biggest prop we've had since Cashmere you'd think.

| wow Menzies couldn't get a game at Dewsbury, Batley, Hunslet and ended up at swinton after asking for a trial at Widnes that didn't work out either. Clearly Mr Koukash must have give him the same chance. He clearly has his aspirations but the fact is he is just an average player at championship level. Maybe a full time environment might be the difference but i can't see it. Good luck to the lad anyways
