Looks like Josh Johnson is a done deal. I hope we are not just grasping at straws with this one. Widnes don't seem too bothered about losing him. I think he has played at about 8 or 9 clubs in his career.

In fairness to him it’s 5 clubs officially but he’s been shipped about on loan or DR a lot.

I think it’s a handy addition if it comes off. I’d rather have him than no one put it that way

What makes us say Widnes aren’t bothered about losing him?

Supporters on their forum don't rate him but that may be sour grapes.

From the media it just looks like a simple a case of he wants to be closer to his home in West Yorkshire. Likely to do with work etc. Widnes ain't going to get a transfer fee at this level so its just about getting best possible deal for them. Reporting that there's an agreement he can't play them in the season.

Not a hugely inspiring signing but with his experience I'd expect him to play more that DDW would have.

Played about 50 SL games out of 140, played for HKR when they were in championship and got promoted, played stints with Leigh, York and Batley so generally around top end of champ, has been picked up in SL a couple of times and whilst it hasn’t really worked out he looks upper end of champ type player to me so looks a massive upgrade on DDW
