I think Walters show’d both sides. He showed some real nice touches. I thought the first offload he tried to throw (maybe to myler?) was worse. The second one was definitely on but given the situation was maybe not the right play. I also thought he made a terrible read on the Sironen try.

Basically he’s a good player with potential but he still has a lot to learn. I can understand why we wouldn’t break the bank on him, if we thought we’d offered something fair but someone else has offered more that’s just how it goes sometimes.

I think it`s a bit unfair criticising Walters.
He probably played more minutes last night than he has all season.
Yes he made mistakes but had the flick to MacDonald come off he is the hero of the day.
Fine margins just like Martins kick falling short and the imaganiery knock on by Sangare for his "no try"
The likes of Holroyd and O`Connor also put in a massive shift as did all the forwards.

Time to dip in the transfer market if we can. Injuries could cost us big time this season

I dunno mate I don’t think we should sign anybody else unless they are a keeper for the future of the club.

We got ourselves in a mess by making emergency signings and we need to hold out nerve - as long as we don’t get relegated we need to build a better side that’s the main focus.

If Newman is out for the season, we urgently need a new centre.
We needed another one anyway.

The other thing we urgently need is a bigger treatment room....

Whatever happens with recruitment it's clear that a minimum of two top class players in spine positions is required. Myler, Austin and Sezer will have a combined age of 100 next year, they've all been (still are) good players but they are only going to get worse and more prone to injury. Pace and guile at full back and half back would be transformative.

We have to be looking fir a FB and HB of top quality.
We then need a good centre or winger and maybe a prop or backrower depending on if Bentley moves to the NRL.

Absolutely it has to be the right player.. and I’d like one to be brought in this season. We have huge salary cap room
