There's a huge amount of talk on Mcatee at the moment, he was left out of cup final squad also which is final nail for him... huge talent, apparently we're a genuine option for him but there's lots of interest.. he's a Yorks lad i believe too.. didn't he come through Sheff U academy..? Either way it's exactly the sort of signing we need, very very talented, and if we went down god forbid he'd be a huge asset to sell or keep... would be great if we can get it done.. he's only 1 year left on his deal too. Forrest struck gold with Gibbs-White, someone of Mcatee's calibre would be ideal
He's from Salford, his family has strong RL links, I think his dad played professionally at some point.
His dad played first team for saints, was supposedly dubbed the next Andy Gregory
fell out of the pro game and went back to eccles, played against us numerous times, sometimes turned up 10 minutes to kick off smelling like he had just got in from boozing
then best player on field by a country mile, superb half back. Would have been interesting if his heart was in it like some said it wasnt. But what I saw he was a great player
