Having had a look they seem much healthier, or am I reading it wrong?

Looks a decent profit unless I’ve read it wrong.

The 'writing off of loans' assisted the picture in no small way.

just from a quick glance, we've gained a tangible asset worth over 14 million pounds. We've also got half a million in the bank, which is a big change. Compared to the year before, the club seems to be in a far better place. We've got 19% more money coming in just from the general turnover of the business from 2022.
Interesting that a director's loan was written off worth in the exceptional items on the 30th of November when the club was taken over worth over 1.23 million, wonder if that was MC?
We've also recently added a new director called Mr Craig Steven Barass.

I read that it states that his occupation is a CEO, but thought that was maybe for his day job because underneath it states
The company confirms that the person named has consented to act as a director.

Also on companies house it says this-
11 Jun 2024 Appointment of Mr Craig Steven Barass as a director on 10 June 2024

It is quite regular in most businesses for the CEO to be a director
