40 years ago Trinity brought in Wally Lewis to an extremely weak team and even he couldn’t save them from relegation in the 10 games he played….

He may not have saved us but he certainly increased the gate receipts and the teams on field performances. The problem is that was a different time where promotion and relegation came with no conditions and rugby league was a family.

The greatest loss that impacted the club was Chris Bretherton. He left at the end of the 2018 season when we finished 5th played attractive rugby and had one of our best squads with players signed on multi year deals.
The season after and every subsequent one we never finished higher than 10th. We started to dismantle the squad reducing the quality playing budget until we reach the one we have this season. The problem is they are probably playing to their abilities but unfortunately in the majority of cases this is championship level.
I know before you say they saved the club but it does not give then the right to destroy it leaving the supporters who are left to pick up the pieces.
With regards our current coach some say he cannot be blamed for our poor form but he selects the team and Fridays just made no sense at all.

I (thankfully) didn't go as I haven't been too well for a few weeks now and I couldn't motivate myself to go.
What was the attendance? what was the general atmosphere like around the ground before kick off?

Think it was about 4500. Can't remember exact number.
Looked full. KR brought a lot.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Im sure it's just a coincidence that his time at Wakefield overlaps so tightly with Wakefield's most successful period in Super League

Cheers - yes, KR usually travel in good numbers.
