Thats the issue, how many centres can we èmploy. Also from what I saw of young Law on boxing day and what folk say about Ollie Pratt. These look two better prospects than Croft and could quickly eclipse him. Good luck to the kid but these things happen and the club moves on

Croft got big raps as a young centre too I recall. He’s some ways ahead of both now as to be expected. Croft will be a good SL centre I have no doubt. I expected he would be Lyne’s replacement but guess it’s not to be now.

Looks like Shaw scored for Villeneuve.

Who knows they may come back, but development wise its important for them to get some game time.

Hopefully their plight will be a lesson to the other young players to not accept blindly what their agent is telling them

It’s the Shaw one that is a mystery to me - France really isn’t the place to improve imho but who knows. Croft has done well to get that gig, that is a move that would benefit most players.

PT is right on this one imho. From what I’ve seen I’m more impressed with Law than Pratt, but both are good for their age.

Truth is Croft was a 50/50 at best even before his agent cocked up. You watch him last year he could be mistake prone, far more so than Hall for example. He’d have struggled to get a starting place imho. I do agree he did improve a bit at the end of last year, there were glimpses.

Apparently we're looking to bring Shaw back too

So I'm not sure how good he is now.
Clearly bags of potential but for those that know him well, is he ready for first team?

Your back, did his agent make a mistake or did the incumbent’s running the club. We continued to pay them in order to try to receive compensation however we have now resigned him probably with an increase contract. What this means is that we have been paying for a player not to play only to realise our squad is so threadbare that someone had to eat quite a bit of humble pie speak to his agent and resign him with I guess his agent receiving a fee.
This as turned out to be basically a colossal waste of the club’s money and the player’s career just to probably feed an ego or two. I would remind the poster that these are the same people who thought it was a good idea to do a straight swap with Hull KR who I believed offered Salford a large transfer fee for one of their players.

Or, we saved money by not paying their inflated contract for a few months, effectively loaning them out for game time.
It's unlikely Shaw would have played much up to now and Croft maybe after Hall went but not exactly going to turn us into a winning side on his own.
Now we have centres injured there's room.

All depends how you want to spin it.

can't believe Carter as rolled over and had his belly tickled and backed down.

Probably not week in week out.
Quite a raw forward going on last year. He’s got the frame and I just feel he needs a couple of years and a few kilos and his direct style will become more effective as the years go by.

Would be a decent signing. Would be a good one to sign on a dual contract beyond this season and continue his development.
