I was told that once our safety was secured we even discussed paying a transfer fee to get Miller out of the contract at Cas. How serious that was, or whether we actually got that far, I don't know.

Makey showed enormous amounts of faith in Miller and he capped all over them.
His playing record ain't great one good game out of 4 doesn't cut it and when your other contributions are below average he's been lucky.
He seemed intend of moving on and I'm prity sure Cas was his only option.
For a present Trinity captain to even contamplate such a movie speakers volumes.

It got complicated as these things do. I’d say that hand on heart losing Miller was not the club’s intention but these things happen.
There is no doubt though that the situation after the Toulouse game didn’t help. We simply must avoid that this year if we are to retain the likes of Murphy,

Agree about the Toulouse point, but he was captain of that side and should take some responsibility for that performance, not throw his rattle out, it was common knowledge early on he had signed for cas, what message did that send to the rest of the team.

To be fair he played his part in the end of season run and maybe did regret it in hindsight.

But he as gone, and personally I'm not too bothered about it. but to cas is the part I don't like.
