WAKEFIELD TRINITY - The PRIDE of Sporting Wakefield

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

Garry Schofield : Wed Sep 21, 2022 11:56 am
See he's started early with laying the boot into Trinity again. Did we do something to upset the fat bloke at some point in the past?

Perhaps he enjoyed his naked run at BelleVue and is setting himself up to do it again. Only hope it's not something I have to watch if he does!

He's paid to be a prat, just works well as he actually is one and I know I've met him, truly unpleasant.

He's entitled to his opinion, however how you can form an opinion on a team thats probably got five major signings to come is beyond me. As is the fact that this rag is edited by a man who has the audacity to claim to be a Trinity fan.

Can't see a problem with what he says. We ARE inconsistent.

If we sign some players that can bring a regular delivery rather than once a month, we'll be fine.
If we are inconsistent, we'll be down the bottom. So I think he's right, for now.

Many won’t like what he’s saying, but I wouldn’t argue with all of what he saying. To be fair he’s saying much of what has been stated on this forum by more than one.

Don't see how you can justify someone passing judgement on a team that isn't even close to being finalised, would you like it if someone did that to you?

He's not passing judgement. He is giving an opinion on how difficult the task will be for Mash and suggests inconsistency is our problem.
Right now, without any announcements about new signings he can only base it on our recent history. And he's right.

This is similar to the Sts dugout thing. It might not feel nice but if that's what we presentvto then world, that is how they'll see us.
It's up to us to put it right. Whether it's chairs or signings.

I really can’t see where Schofield has passed any judgement on the team that hasn’t been assembled yet. He is commenting on the last couple of years and how difficult it may be for MA to break this cycle of inconsistency and players under achieving. If anything he has been more complimentary about MA that much of his fellow RL pundits.

I can’t see what’s controversial or derogatory in what he says
He pretty much sums up the current and past situations, we are inconsistent!
Strip Miller, Tupou, Fifita, Arona, Batchelor & Johnstone from that inconsistent team and you have a massive task to fill their roles within the team let alone improve it.

Aside from that, I think the tactic of waiting to see what the World Cup unearths, if that is what we’re doing, is a huge gamble. Almost all of the Pacific Nations players will be contracted to NRL clubs and the pickings from PNG, Cook Islands and Fiji will be very slim indeed.

I’m not 100% convinced that the wait is to see who’s available after the World Cup. I suspect it may be to do with the announcement next Wednesday from IMG, as to the proposals for next season and beyond. For example, if it’s decided on a 14 team SL, with licensing/no relegation period, then perhaps Trinity May bring more youngsters through with a couple of real quality NRL players. We should all see next Wednesday what sort of future IMG have for the game. Let’s keep our powder dry just a few more days.
