Sorry Vasty. You are doing a Scarlet there.
He makes a good point about his team and if you can't say why or where they have overspent, I tend to side with his view.
You may be right that they can't sustain it but you can't really say they've built it on the never never without prompting a challenge.

Though, as if to back you up, they've just signed Oliver Partington from Wigan.

Where do I say we have an Elite academy? :D Reading not a strong point fella?

I quite clearly say we applied for a license but were turned down and I'm fully aware we only have a development squad. But I'll leave it there. You clearly can't back up any of your claims so I won't embarass you any further in front of your more sane Wakey supporters.

FWIW, as for the GF I'm going to begrudgingly be erring on the side of Leeds. As a Utd fan and a proud Salfordian, anything dirty Leeds are involved in I want them to lose but I'm making a minor exception must this once.

You said you’d applied for an academy, you haven’t. The only real academies are the 10 elite ones. The rest are just a bunch of youngsters having a go.

I chat to loads of people in the game and nobody can work out how Salford are even here let alone how they can sustain it.

Still if you want to dodge reality then your no more sane than I am.

You can if you steadfastly refuse to pay your rent.

We started paying ours back 18 month ago, imagine if we could have pocketed it. We’d have been able to spend the full cap that’s for sure.

I don’t make these things up, and even if only 10% of what I hear was true it’s shocking.

It’s grossly unfair that we do it right and others get away with it. Salford are a less successful Bradford. They are betting everything on the team in the hope that it pays off. Like Bradford it’s all built on sand and can only end one way. As it did for us in 2001 - 2012 - 2015, might not totally have the dates right but you get the idea.

The only way you can have real sustainable success is to generate revenue. Loans are fine so long as you can service the debt. In a few years we may be able to but I don’t see how Salford who are effectively nomads ever can.

Just to carry on the point as to why we are a model club in financial terms.

Five years ago Trinity only had debt, zero assets.

Now we own the ground who’s value now exceeds the price paid, positive equity.

By this time next year we will have further assets worth about 8 million. The east stand, the rollin shack, the pitch, the floodlights and the big screen all go down as asserts because they all have an earning potential.

We now have a positive balance sheet that gives us financial leverage that we didn’t have before.

It’s far easier to attract investors and gain the support of the banks with the above. They will lose money but it will be money they expected to lose. What they won’t be doing is throwing good money after bad. That’s what investors look for, the chance to buy glory, not the chance to buy endless debt.

You can put all the emoticons you like and the faux accent, I know I'm right and you know I'm right. Even in the deprived suburb of Manchester that is now Salford, 2 + 2 still makes 4 and Salfords BOD's can't or won't add up properly.
