My god you are so full of yourself and cannot accept that being the fountain of all knowledge you don’t actually know everything, you have an opinion on everything and recently gone into overdrive with posts defending the club. We were offered Cherry Evans long before your new mentor came onto the scene. He was only an inexperienced unknown junior so obviously it would be just a gamble.
I regret that it is not made up but was just an interesting fact but up steps the oracle the club’s knight in shining armour to defend their virtue, even when it is not called into question. It is just your fallback position defend don’t think just defend after all you are now almost part of the family, a distant part but useful when required. :SUBMISSION:

Total lie. Cherry Evans was never an unknown, get real.

"Cherry-Evans played 46 games for the National Youth Competition team of Manly Warringah Sea Eagles over the 2008 (aged 18) and 2009 season where he scored 246 points in total including 24 tries. He was named on the interchange bench of the 2009 Toyota Cup season's team of the year."

Yeah, a real unknown

He started with Manly reserves from the age 19 and has been with them ever since and by 21 was a full blown international. Yet you persist with the idea that this player who's potential was well known to Manly and other NRL clubs was offered to an ailing SL team.

As it happens I was far better connected with the club in 2009 than I am now and that one never came up, funny that. In fairness lots of players were mentioned in those days and some I forget, but a player called Cherry, nobody forgets that.

Truth is we only have Lino and Gaskell so we do need another HB. However as is always the case in RL, if you have a big strong aggressive pack that is on the front foot, most HB's will look decent.

If I were looking for a good value player with real potential and a fair bit of experience I'd look no further than Jordan Lilley at Bradford.

Not a world beater but a good foil for Lino and not lacking in quality. One things for sure, Mash will know him as a player and that matters imho rather than reputation.

I think one of the other creative/attacking areas we really miss out on is at hooker

Really like hood but his main strength is defence, which is ferocious, the guys a real asset to us

I know this is fantasy rl as it were but some one like a Brad drew at hooker to go with Lino and a game controlling half in the Tim smith mould (but with a kicking game) is what I’d like to see

Be nice to get shaul tied up too
Thought he was a terrific edition to the team

It goes without saying we need to replace Dave and Arona too

Lilley was really rated but not sure how he did at Bradford. Lots of player will be looking for super league deals and Leigh need to get their quoter down. Been late to the market is something that might work in our favour. NRL releases etc might bode well for us.

It sounds a bit like the Henry Paul situation, he was contracted to the NRL but still joined us but hey they obviously didn’t tell you everything even then. I doubt player recruitment was part of your sycophants charter at the time.

On reflection, I think Gale would be OK. :CURTAIN:
Look how many times he's done us over in someone else's shirt.....
At Hull, if he wasn't in the team, I doubt whether they'd have scored tbh........
As some have said, he is a winner - you cant deny that and I think for a season he'd be OK for us.
(Prepares tin-hat for upcoming fall-out)

Well lets hope that if he comes he doesn't do us over in our shirt.

Henry Paul joined the club when we were still part time on a match day contract at the end of the season. He was also not signed to a NSWRL club. That was a completely different world, that was even pre Ted, how there is even the remotest similarity with Cherry Evens is ludicrous.

I really hope so and I hope he has impressed them enough to take over the bulk of his wages, that would be great for all concerned.

Best thing (as we have a few wingers) would be to explore a player swap deal.

I’d consider Springer for sure who looks like he’s matured enough for SL now. Maybe Morgan Smith ex Wire/London half who’s scored 20 try’s this season could be worth a look. All depends if Fev want Lineham of course.
