I hope he has a big family buying season tickets to watch him because his appeal now is nil. I cannot believe he is or was ever considered despite Vastman’s conversion to his benefits to us and for probably two years based solely on the game he played when we beat them at Hull.

Nil appeal? Really. You cannot think of 1 possible positive in signing Gale.

Captain hindsight.

Leeds/Tom Johnstone
Cas/Gaz Ellis
Shudds/Lewis Murphy
Wakey/Jamie Peacock
etc..........................................

Not an unfamiliar occurrence in sport.

We were heavily linked with James Maloney before he finally broke through in the NRL. Think he was at NZ Warriors at the time.

It happens, I'm sure dozens have gone by the wayside. Henry Paul tried to get us to sign Robbie but we wouldn't go for him for one reason or another, probably money.

I remember reading who we were in for at the back of the Wakey Express years ago. I’m sure it once said Cooper Cronk and Dally Johnson (who actually went to Catalan)

What are you going on about I was only pointing out that he was once offered to us when he was mentioned in one of the posts. I am sure there are many but I don’t remember them being mentioned with relation to this topic.
I am not sure where hindsight comes into it memory yes but that is something different, you might want to look the definitions up so you can get it correct next time.

We will have a shirt to fit him but on the field very little unless we put him in charge of carrying the water. That’s two and if he has a big family that’s three but only if they buy season tickets.

I remember Robbie Paul story but just for clarity for WWW he was not mentioned so I did not think it to be that interesting or relative to the post.

No leadership skills?
No big game experience?
No winning mentally?
No knowledge of the game that would translate on the pitch?
Nothing at all to pass onto younger members of the team? Or older for that matter?
Wouldn't be the organiser that might allow Lino to play without pressure?

If Gale has signed I’d be ok with it. The lads played in a WC final, Grand final and Challenge cup final. That is priceless knowledge and experience to pass onto the team. No one who has left or signed in the last 30 years for us has that single playing experience. If he has signed he’ll have my support and hopefully would be playing with abit less pressure than at Hull FC.

I wouldn't mind signing Gale for just a season if only to pass on his skills to any aspiring stand off that we may pick up in the interim, in much the way that it was hoped Danny B would. Ok, he probably wouldn't be as mobile as he was, but as mentioned above his experience could make it worthwhile in the short term.
