If Mash was so well thought of as the Head of Youth (and it seems on the JD interview he wasn't averse to stepping back into something different at the club) then he might accept a role back with development? He shouldn't be punished for this year by any means - he just didn't have the capability or the resources to play with.
Up to new owners I guess.

To answer your question about working notice when being made redundant, loads of people.
Some do get to leave at once but, working your notice is not uncommon, even when made redundant, it depends what kind of work your're in.
As for Applegarth, it would be good to keep him. He's never wanted anything other than Trinity to succeed but, this gig and the squad that was assembled made things impossible for him.

I don't think that's the same thing.
When you are made redundant you don't have a notice period. You are put at risk for a period of time but once they've decided who is redundant you go on the spot with a payment.
Working your notice applies to a compromise agreement where you agree to terminate a contract that has notice already in place.

| I think ma's has presented himself in a professional manner. I don't think the job should have been his in such an important season
I don't blame him for taking the job and giving it a go, I'm not sure he should have remained in the job after the big 15 but he was and the board have much to answer for.
I would like to see him employed within the club because I have no doubt he's a Wakey man through and through.
Powell on the other hand will have no connections with the club and I suspect very little knowledge or links with the new owners.
I'm all for outsiders getting positions within the club, it needs to be a complete new slate.
All that remains that the present owners can slope off and the supporters get behind the new ser up.
Just one cautionary footnote, don't expect a SL return after 1 season, because that will. Not happen unless either rovers or Cas stuff up big style.

"Consultation period" is I believe the term used.

Why not ? It's all based on the IMG Criteria after next season and I would expect we will be scoring more that Fev & Cas if the club's estimations this season are anything to go by. Plus the new owner can see which areas he can spend some more money to increase our score in any of the other areas as well where I just don't see that happening with Cas especially with their ownership not really looking to invest anything at all.

Players and sorting staff will be on fixed term contracts anyway so redundancy talk is moot?

Indeed. Cas and Fev are both behind us by my calculation.
Unless we really stuff up the league and they both hit top four and win a trophy, and even then I think Cas would be behind without a lot if work on stadium.
Our area to improve is fan engagement on line. Wouldn't take a lot of effort to lift that.
