Well it wasn’t me but I did raise the point of him making ‘come and get me’ noises.
Craig Harrison has revealed Gale was twice lined up to join Wire.

Yes I saw that too from Harrison, although it seemed to both times be coming from Player / Agent rather than the club. Both times Warrington rejected it.

I thought Harrison said they’d been talks between them under SP tenure. Wire apparently went quiet. I would guess they had by then set sights on Williams.

He was a bit of quality.

That`s my view too.

He would have been a very good signing at certain stages of his career, but not now.

Yeah he would have been a good signing before he ruptured his Achilles. He'll be class in the championship and i hope he does well for himself. We're looking great with our halves though so i'm happy with that

That someone was me, because we were speaking to his agent.

It was never as a starting half. More of an experienced back-up costing very little on the cap. But not deemed necessary with the emergence of our own Academy player(s).

We were still talking to Gales agent this season as well. Obvious links with DP.

I'm surprised we were linked with him under Price. If we couldn't get Widdop and Austin firing in that team, what the hell were we expecting Gale to do? IMO Gale has only ever looked anything near a top quality halfback when under Powell... something that leaves me feeling encouraged for the coming season, considering Gale and Drinkwater aren't too far apart in terms of quality and role.
