Well so far he's been excellent for us, to point where one of the automatic picks prior to his arrival is probably going to miss out in the play-off semi.

So a 34 year old ex Wire academy prop has usurped these mega talented Wigan lads then?

I've heard from others that there was apparently some disharmony between the two. But that's as far as it goes.

Extremely weak management by Price to accept this open petulance by Cooper.

Would you have rather had John Kear over Daryll Powell at the start of the season?

Without derailing the thread I'd have gone for Watson a year earlier, but it was nailed on for one of our co correspondents and I believe John had written his introductory speech

"Very excited, very aware of the responsibilities. The league's greatest CEO has asked me to form a new administration and I have accepted. It is, of course, the greatest honour that can come to any coach in Super League. (Cheering) I know full well the responsibilities that await me as I enter the door of the Halliwell Jones and I'll strive unceasingly to try to fulfil the trust and confidence that the Warrington people have placed in me and the things in which I believe. And I would just like to remember some words of St. Francis of Assisi which I think are really just particularly apt at the moment. ‘Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope’ … . and to all the Warrington people—howsoever they wanted as a coach—may I say this. Now that the job is mine, may we get together and strive to serve and strengthen the club of which we're so proud to be a part. And finally, one last thing: in the words of Mike Cooper whom we had hoped to bring here with us, but he's knitting bobble hats ‘There is now work to be done’.

Tom Daly will be pleased.

When Cooper came on the scene he was prone to knock ons but he has matured into a player who gives 100% every time. I hope he gets a winners ring with you lads.

It appears to be the only alternative to 4 in a row for Saints.
