| Quote easyWire="easyWire"King not having the best for Wigan so far. It'll be interesting to see how he develops under Wane and Peet, as he's still contracted to us. If they get him playing to a consistently high standard (at least as good as he was here until his contract extension) then we could bring him back in alongside Wrench next year. If not, I'm not sure what we do with him? He's on a fair whack so we'd have to try and get something out of him for the final two years of his contract.'"
Wrench will play centre for Wire and has all the attributes with his speed off the mark, dancing footwork and passing ability.
King is a one trick pony with his jumps for high kicks, (Which are very good btw). His defence today was just as bad as it was for us last season. Powell made the correct decision to get shut.

| I've just woken up from a deep slumber since the end of the first half, what was the final score for Salford V Hull HR, anyone?

KR won 24-10.
Willie Peters looks promising and has instilled a bit of resilience into KR.
Salford are busy signing up players on very long term contracts. I’m not sure that’s a great thing. Having a good finish to last year doesn’t really justify it IMO. Leeds made the grand final and I wouldn’t expect them to sign up Austin, Sezer and one of their ageing backs on long term contracts. I can understand it with Ormondroyd, but he’s hardly likely to be on megabucks.

| Saints were very impressive today given the last week - but Cas should have taken their chances.
For me Saints are clearly the team to beat having seen their last 2 games. I can see them only getting better.
I could have said that 3 months ago, but it's said now with more confidence.
Walmsley immense.
Cas were their own worst enemies though.
They bombed 3 or 4 tries - Mamo being the chief culprit. His passing for an SL player was truly shocking.
And even when they did cross the whitewash they still managed to f*** it up. What on earth was Faraimo thinking of???
2 weeks in and Radford has 2 completely different sets of issues to deal with.
They've a lot of work to do.

And let’s not be shocked when he receives no punishment at tomorrow’s panel.

Ref gave a penalty try so could not show a card. One or the other but not both.

| When Powell decided to release Mamo, I had mixed feelings whether he had made the right call.
His defence was his main problem, but yesterday he couldn`t pass a ball to a supporting player on several breaks.
Looks like Daryl was correct.

TBF I could have caught the one Evalds dropped early on
There was also one in the second half (in-field) where he turned in the tackle after making a break and player behind him wasn't alert to the pass and knocked it on.
I understand the issue with his defence but Mamo is a long way from being Castleford's biggest problem.

I can't see any reference to that in the laws of the game.

i mean you say this, but these weren't burning issues that could be used to justify getting rid at the time, defence possibly, but i can't recall him having problems passing balls on a break for us. His decision making was usually pretty good.
bearing in mind broadbent and others had handling errors/brainfarts, i'd say its a cas problem rather than just a jake problem.
thats before you even cast an eye at westerman's 15 hour bender a week before the season starting.
