Australia were superb : Sun Nov 20, 2022 8:31 am
I have had a lot to say about the WC and won’t go over it again but Australia were superb yesterday .

I have seen every Australian team since 1978 and whilst this team do not necessarily have the “stars” of yesteryear or some of the flashier players in the the past Like Lockyer / Thurston or Slater as a well oiled machine they were fabulous.

Their line speed, fitness and strength from minute 1 to minute 80 was fabulous. I really though Samoa would have troubled them more in the centre of the park but they didn’t.
I thought Tedesco’s tries were superb the back up play and lines he took were exceptional

That was one of the best aussie performances I have seen , not a weak link in the whole team they were superb possibly the best aussie teams ever ?

I will however mention the beer at OT carlsberg and worthingtons cream flow ?WTF

Do football grounds not want to sell any beer or will football fans drink any Shiite?

I spent the day drinking team and coffee.

This is sold at the Principality Stadium too.
I do my drinking before and after the games there.

I agree that they are superb and lacking in any weak links. But, they are also comfortably short of some of the historic Aussie sides, just because of the lack of quality in their individuals. This generation of elite players isn't as good as previous ones.

As long as I can remember, everytime an Aussie team comes over I always hear people say things like 'they're good, but they're not as good as other Aussie teams of the past', but the fact is, they are. The standard of their basic skills is almost flawless, their attacking structures are robotic, and they're able to play at intensity nobody can match for 80 minutes. To me, they get better everytime I see them.

They aren't though. They have less threat than previous teams. New Zealand matched them in the semi final and they were very lucky to win that. They don't have the legendary individual players Aussie teams have had. Tedesco is probably their best player, but he's about the only one on the Lockyer, Inglis, Thurston, Slater level.

There will always be dissatisfied people. People who have seen the Australian team in the distant past have already aged a lot. They're just nostalgic :D
