I ended up sending the Mrs with no1 son - she was at Spike Island, so it seemed appropriate.

PE brilliant by all accounts and The Stone Roses, despite Ian Brown still not being able to sing, went down a storm; a good time was had by all, and I expect the Roses accountants are much happier this morning.

Ian Brown has never been able to sing, but he's always had a good rapport with the crowd, no matter what generation of fans are there. As a frontman he has a presence that is lacking in many of today's artists.
saw the undertones in York last week. brilliant, supurb. I saw them years ago with feargal but I like this new singer even better. softer irish voice but boy what a showman.
next up james in leeds, for about the 30th time, then the buzzcocks in York in october
Saw Jake Bugg in Manchester last night. Absolutely superb live.
I witnessed Cult of Luna (featuring Julie Christmas) performing "Mariner" in full at Damnation Festival at the weekend. Truly outstanding.

By some weird stroke of good luck, I bagged 2 standing tickets for Radiohead in Manchester next July; seen them live a couple of times before, so I know what I'm in for - can't wait.

Got tickets to go and watch Grandaddy next March.

Going watching them at the Liverpool Academy on the 3rd or 4th next month.
Just seen one of my favourite band's of the 80's and 90's Deacon Blue.

They have just released a new album, and the concert was as good as any I have seen them do in the past. They are a live band that seem to get better with age
