| Quote SFW="SFW"How is their new album? Haven't got around to listening yet, their third album was awful I thought and didn;t like the single from this new one. They are pretty average live too IMO.'"
I prefer it to Day and Age but oviously it's nowhere near the standard of Hot Fuss and Sam's Town. If you don't like the single then I'd imagine you probably wouldn't like the album.
I've seen them live before and loved it, each to their own I suppose!

| Quote citywolf="citywolf"Skin have done a few gigs over the last few years, I've been to watch them several times.
Possibly the beat was Skin with Thunder supporting. Just an amazing throw back to my youth.... Also a lesson to any young band in how to work a crowd.'"
There were some great British rock bands around in the early / mid 90's, a time when it wasn't uncommon for me to do 2 or 3 gigs a month ... Thunder, Magnum, Little Angels, Gun, Skin did the rounds regularly in those days either as support acts at City Hall / Arena type venues or as headliners at smaller venues ... good times.

I saw The Killers at Sheffield on Thursday and thought they were excellent.
Yes i think they have mellowed a little musically, probably down to growing older and have money in the bank which led them to experiment on Days & Age like they did.
But they did a cracking set..they even made the older members of the crowd jump about like teenagers

I've just seen the setlist from last night at Liverpool, looks great! After more listens of their new album I am liking it more than I did at first when I thought it was quite average.

| In fairness I thought they were good live when they were touring around the time of Sam's Town and the b-side album. I've seen them a couple of times since though and the new stuff just does nothing for me and is probably affecting my opinion of how good they are live.

I saw the Inspiral Carpets at the Welly Club in Hull. The sound was shocking. Wasn't a good night at all.

I still can't get a grip on post Ryan Deaf Havana. There are some good tracks, but they don't have that same edge they did in 2009.

| Well I was going to see the Killers tomorrow anyway! Got to hope that it is on now after they went off after 4 songs tonight because of Brandon Flowers' throat.

Nope sounds like its cancelled mate (double check it is though),im sure they will reschedule both Manchester dates.
Its a strange feeling having a gig cancelled, a mixture of disappointment and understanding. I went to see R.E.M at Sheffield about 5 years ago when the gig was cancelled. Mike Mills had been obmitted to hospital with bronchitis that day. As Michael Stipe and Pete Buck wondered on stage with the lights still on you knew something was wrong.
They explained the reason (Stipe couldn't apologise enough, especially as it was on the night of a snowstorm) but still gave us a 3 song acoustic set....and saw the rescheduled gig 4 month later.
