Like most I can’t see past Martin. Myler is my next standout followed by Sezer. But could Rohan surprise us with someone from left field, if so would be a big call.

As others have said Martin appears the obvious pick.
If Rohan goes a different way I’d throw Cameron Smith in as the left field choice.

If Rohan is going to shake up the Captaincy I think it could well be either Mik Oledzki or Cam Smith there both at the age where they are becoming real senior players for us now and both seem to be in the clubs long term plans with the length of contracts they've recently signed. I think they both captained the side last year at some point as well when Handley was out injured & Leeming wasn't starting games.

I’d go Cam Smith. Would elevate his game, but don’t think would improve Martin much ….

Cam Smith for me. Could really raise his game

Out of interest, is the feeling that leeming ought not to be captain or are all these alternatives being suggested purely on the basis of if a change is made then player x should be?

It's difficult to make suggestions without knowing more of the dynamic in the group. For me the main options are:

Martin - the closest to a Sinfield style captain as a steadying influence; would also know best when to take the two points etc. He'd have to cut out the regular suspensions though.
Sezer - more McGuire style captain, but it might bring out the best in him.
Cam Smith - if Rohan believes that he has leadership potential, maybe, but I'd rather he focuses on improving his game, and cutting out fatigue errors (e.g. forgetting it is the 6th tackle and running blindly for the line). Is he vocal enough?
Handley - I'm not personally a fan of wingers being captain, but he seems to be favoured as a leader in the group.
Myler - an obvious choice at FB and v. experienced. Smith might prefer a longer-term option.
Leeming - fine, but not ideal if he is going to be spelled, and also seems to need to work on his own game a bit more.
Oledski - would be a JP style captain, but again not ideal if he has to be spelled. I'd prefer a gobby half-back type with more potential sway over the referee in tricky situations

For me it's about the alternatives to Leeming. But as one or two have said on here, Leeming no good as capt if not on the field most of the game.

For me capt needs to me a 70 mins player minimum. Not a fan of a winger being capt either, they're too far out of the way.

Leeming has intimated he may not be Captain next year, so suspect something been said within the camp. Don’t think he’ll be first choice 9, so can’t really be captain. Was crackers to allow players to choose a captain in first place……
