A few on Twitter now saying the incident started because of something Wane said to Bentley that he took exception to. It sounds very much like he was involved in it. I remember there was a lot of extra-curricular misbehaving when he was in charge at Wigan as well.

The suggestion is he was drunk and confronted Wane about not picking him for England. Presumably Wane has then told Bentley what he thinks of him and it's gone from there. I'm not sure what disciplinary action they could bring against Bentley unless he gets charged by the Police. I think he might have burned a few bridges in terms of being selected for England/GB in future though. A Yorkshireman playing for Leeds who has played for Saints was never going to get in though.

Sounds like Bentley's been a dick.

Not sure that an England coach still out on the drink with some - though apparently not all - of his team some 36 hours after a defeat is a model for improving standards.

Big daft lads doing big daft lad things. Typically Rugby League players are not famed for their intelligence. Nothing to see here, just people looking to make a story out of a couple of dummies doing silly things.

Apparently Samoa were staying in same hotel and England players knocking on doors and running off.

As others have said why was Bentley there?
Why was wane out on the ale with them?

I’m sure Bentley played his part but a useful fall guy for England players and their coach as well
